Argus shares rise

Insurance proved to be the sector with the biggest movers and shakers on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

Argus Group Holdings boosted its share value by 25 cents (1.7 percent) as it closed up at $15.25, with 200 shares traded.

Meanwhile BF&M, which this week posted record half-year profits, finished down at $18.25, a decrease of 25 cents (1.4 percent), as 2,210 shares changed hands.

Bermuda Container Line also saw an upturn in fortunes as their share price rose $1.30 (9.5 percent) for a closing value of $15. They traded 1,000 shares.

Other highlights included BELCO Holding finishing on a high, up $1 (4.9 percent) at $21.50, with 1,200 shares traded.

The Index as a whole closed on 5,268.20, representing a change of 30.74 points (0.59 percent). Share volume was 25,610, while turnover stood at $523,810.

The BSX Insurance Index, meanwhile, finished down 0.70 percent at 1,202.18.
