Bermuda Press boost

Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. proved the biggest winner on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) last week.

The publications company boosted its share price by $1.75 (12.5 percent) to close on $15.75 on Thursday, with 100 shares traded.

Belco Holdings Ltd. also climbed 15 cents (0.69 percent) to finish at $22, as 7,900 shares changed hands.

The banking sector was, however, hit hardest, with Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. -Warrants dropping $2.75 (52.38 percent), Bermuda Commercial bank Ltd. falling $1 (9.09 percent) and Butterfield Bank by 20 cents (1.14 percent), while BF&M Ltd. declined 95 cents (4.14 percent) to $22, with 4,500 shares traded.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. also traded 4,740 shares, but its share price remained unchanged.

The Index, as a whole, fell 49.620 points (0.97 percent) to 5,138.97, as a total of $122.386 shares worth $2,097,620 were traded.
