BF&M, Butterfield drop

Insurance was the biggest player on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

BF&M Ltd. saw their share price plummet 60 cents (3.2 percent) to close at $18.40, with 1,000 shares traded.

Elsewhere, Butterfield Bank also experienced a loss as their share value slumped five cents (0.2 percent) to finish on $20.30, as 23,283 shares changed hands.

Overall the Index dropped 15.95 points (0.31 percent) to close on 5,110.34.

A total of $491,265.25 worth of 24,283 shares were traded throughout the day.

The BSX Insurance Index closed up 0.44 percent at 1,225.96.
