Boost for banking

Banking was the busiest sector on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.Bermuda Commercial Bank - warrants saw 4,700 shares trade, while Butterfield Bank traded 3,300, but both of their share prices remained unchanged.Meanwhile, Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. has advised the BSX that the bank's listed warrants will not have their terms amended a further time and will expire on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 5pm.

BF&M Ltd. also traded 1,700 shares, but its share value held firm at $22.
As a whole, the Index stayed the same at 5,138.97, with a total of 9,700 shares worth $106,405 changing hands throughout the day.
The BSX Insurance Index inched up 0.56 percent to finish on 1,084.58.
