BSX drops 60 points for week

A poor Friday's business led to the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) experiencing one of its worst weeks' trading.

The Index lost 47.13 points (0.89 percent) on Friday, culminating in a total loss of 60.49 (1.15 percent) for the week, as it closed on 5,269.48.

A total of 140,891 shares changed hands, with a turnover of $7,904,145.30.

Belco Holdings Limited profited the most from the conditions though, adding 80 cents (3.69 percent) to its share value to finish at $22.50, with 3,444 shares traded.

BF&M Ltd. also notched up 25 cents (1.37 percent) with a closing figure of $18.50, but Butterfield Bank suffered a loss of $1.25 (1.95 percent) to finish on $62.75.

KeyTech Limited also lost 50 cents (3.33 percent) as they closed on $14.50.

The BSX Insurance Index meanwhile dropped 8.16 points to finish on 1189.77.
