Busy day on BSX
It was a busy day on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday as no less than four companies saw their share price change.
Watlington Waterworks Ltd. were the biggest beneficiaries as their share value soared $2 (15.4 percent) to close at $15, with 120 shares traded.
Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. also boosted their profile, with their share value climbing 10 cents (1.5 percent) to finish on $6.75. A total of 2,000 shares changed hands.
The biggest losers, however, were Devonshire Industries Ltd., whose value dropped 60 cents (4.3 percent) to close at $13.25, as 400 shares were traded.
Butterfield Bank also continued its recent slump, falling 15 cents (0.8 percent) to finish down at $19.70, despite 36,664 shares being traded.
Overall, the Index closed down 19.78 points (0.39 percent) at 5,078.42.
A total of 39,484 shares worth $751,525.40 were traded throughout the day.
The BSX Insurance Index, however, bucked that trend, rising 0.47 percent to 1,306.15.
