Butterfield the key

Butterfield Bank proved to be the big players on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday as their share value dropped 35 cents (1.8 percent) to close at $19.
A total of 12,131 shares were traded, as the Index as a whole declined 55.96 points (1.10 percent) to finish on 5,036.84, with 12,131 shares worth $232,498.70 changing hands.
In contrast, the BSX Insurance index rose 0.90 percent to close at 1,251.65.
