Butterfield Bank boosted its share price by $1.73 (10 percent) to close at $18.95 on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded a total of 2,500 shares during the course of the day.

West Hamilton Holdings Ltd. also saw 2,000 shares change hands, but its share value remained unchanged at $13.

The Index as a whole finished up 302.96 points (6.06 percent) at 5,298.24, with 4,500 shares worth $73,375 traded.

The BSX Insurance Index was also up 1.18 percent at 1,129.57.
