Insurance leads way

The insurance industry led the way on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

BF&M Ltd. saw an increase of 50 cents (2.7 percent) in their share price, which closed at $19, with a total of 3,500 shares traded.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. similarly continued their good trading from last week, climbing by 10 cents (1.6 percent) to $6.50, as 6,000 shares changed hands.

BELCO Holdings Ltd. were the only other company to experience any change, but unfortunately it was a decrease of 50 cents (2.2 percent), as their share value finished on $22.50.

Overall the index dropped 1.65 points (0.03 percent) to close at 5,308.68 as 44,100 shares worth $687,115 were traded.
