Lawsuit in FlyFirstClass jet dispute

LONDON (Bloomberg) — Trans-Atlantic business-class airline Silverjet is being sued by a competitor over control of a Boeing 767 airplane that has previously been lined up to fly between Bermuda and Stanstead near London.

Florida-based C First Class Corporation, owner of FlyFirstClass, said it had a contract with FlyJet for the use of a 767-200ER airliner until UK-based Silverjet bought FlyJet in November 2006 to take control of the plane, according to the lawsuit filed in federal court in New York.

Silverjet said yesterday the lawsuit was "without merit."

It will file a motion on October 1 to dismiss the lawsuit, it said.

FlyFirstClass plans to operate 767s between Bermuda, London Stansted airport and Wilmington, North Carolina, as soon as it gets government approval, according to its Web site.
