Marketing tips for small businesses at seminar today

The Bermuda Small Business Development Corporation is hosting a marketing seminar today.The breakfast seminar is the first of its quarterly business workshops entitled Marketing Matters. It will provide small to medium sized business owners with ideas and strategies on new ways to promote their businesses.Some of the topics that will be covered are: market research, direct marketing, advertising, collateral, public/media relations, viral marketing, guerrilla marketing, the use of websites like Facebook.

The breakfast seminar is the first of its quarterly business workshops entitled Marketing Matters. It will provide small to medium sized business owners with ideas and strategies on new ways to promote their businesses.

Some of the topics that will be covered are: market research, direct marketing, advertising, collateral, public/media relations, viral marketing, guerrilla marketing, the use of websites like Facebook.

Michelle Khaldun, general manager of the corporation, said: "Marketing is so critical to any business, yet many smaller business owners feel as though the expense is beyond their budgets or in some cases believe that marketing is not necessary. Through this seminar, we will share with small and medium business owners that marketing is vital to successfully establishing and/or growing all businesses."

Senator Walton Brown, general manager of Research Innovations, will speak, along with Kerry Judd, general manager of Aardvark Communications Ltd., and Randy Stafford, president of Stafford Flooring.

The seminar at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess starts with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. The presentation will start at 8.30 a.m. and conclude at 11.30 a.m. It costs $50 to attend.
