Security Capital Assurance Ltd.'s (SCA) share price reached a 52-week low, dropping 23.7 percent (75 cents) to close at $2.41 yesterday.

SCA's 52-week high had been $34.58 earlier last year, but it has been in free-fall since October 2007.

Meanwhile, XL Capital, which owns 46 percent of SCA, also saw its share price fall, this time by $3.58 to $47.90, having lost all of Monday's previous gains.
