The utilities sector proved to be the leading force on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday with BELCO Holdings Ltd. and KeyTech Ltd. both seeing their share values soar.

BELCO's share price rose 50 cents (2.4 percent) to close up at $21.50, while KeyTech's climbed $2.50 (20 percent) to finish on $15. Totals of 500 and 711 shares were traded respectively.

Butterfield Bank, meanwhile, experienced a downturn as its share price dipped five cents (0.3 percent) to close on $19.60, with 5,904 shares changing hands.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. were also active in the trading department, transacting 1,600 shares throughout the day.

Overall, the Index finished up 60.71 points (1.20 percent) at 5,127.76.

Elsewhere, the BSX Insurance Index continued its steady progress, inching up 0.47 percent to 1,306.15.
