Tyco names Nayar treasurer

BOSTON (Bloomberg) - Bermuda-based Tyco International Ltd., the world's biggest provider of security systems through its ADT unit, appointed PepsiCo Inc.'s Arun Nayar as treasurer, filling the spot vacated by Martina Hund-Mejean.

Mr. Nayar, 57, most recently served as chief financial officer of operations at PepsiCo, Pembroke, Bermuda-based Tyco said in a statement. Hund-Mejean left Tyco about four months ago to work as finance chief at MasterCard Inc.

Mr. Nayar will be based in Princeton, New Jersey. Prior to his job at PepsiCo, Nayar worked 11 years at Swiss engineering company ABB Ltd. and 11 years at what was then Westinghouse Electric Corp., Tyco said.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from India's University of Delhi, Tyco said. Tyco, run from West Windsor, New Jersey, declined 46 cents to $41.14 at 10.25am in New York Stock Exchange composite trading.
