Bank of Butterfield traded 17,020 shares -- nearly 20 percent of all business -- closing up $1.00 at $19.50. No other shares changed price.

The index closed at 1,957.67, up 0.92 percent or 18.064 points, on a volume of 87,993 shares worth $3,149,801.50.
