Mr. Patterson takes up his new post on March 1. He joined Pfizer Seiyaku in January, 1993 as executive vice president of the pharmaceutical business.
He was last promoted March 1, 1996 to executive vice president of the company.
The son of Mary A. Patterson of Cloverdale Apartments, Devonshire, Mr.
Patterson has had a long and distinguished career since graduating from Saltus Grammar School.
He was noted for his many years of worldwide service to Pfizer before going to Japan, including appointments as country manager of the company in Taiwan, Chile, Columbia/Ecuador, Mexico and Brazil.
He received his undergraduate degree from Babson College, Massachusetts and holds a Master of Business Adminstration degree from Columbia University in New York City.
Pfizer Seiyaku KK is the Japanese subsidiary of Pfizer Inc., New York with sales of Yen 1,200 billion, employing 2,500 people in the manufacture and sales of a wide range of health care related products.
The company also conducts basic pharmaceutical research at its discovery laboratories located in Nagoya.
