Carlson moves to Meyer

Meyer Travel has just recruited Dianne Carlson to the position of vice president sales and marketing.

Ms Carlson comes from the Department of Tourism, where she has worked since 1987. She was promoted to Senior Marketing Manger, Group Incentive Sales, North America.

She will be based in New York and will be responsible for directing group and incentive sales and marketing operations in North America.

She has over 25 years' experience in both the Bermuda travel and hospitality markets.

Ms Carlson started work in the hospitality trade in 1973 when she worked as reservations/front office manager at Pompano Beach Club.

She has also been director of public relations for the Southampton Princess and director of sales and convention services at the Hamilton Princess where she stayed for 11 years.

While working in the Department of Tourism, she has received 30 major industry awards for professionalism, dedication and service to corporate, incentive, association, travel agents and independent meeting professionals.

*** The board of governors at the Bermuda Employer's Council has announced its list of officers for the year 2001.

These are Gerald Simons , President, Paget Wharton , Vice President, Edward Saints , Vice President, Graham Redford , secretary, treasurer.

*** Ernst & Young's Michele Held and Kevin Britten have both become certified as Project Management Professionals under the Project Management Institution.

The Project Management Services department at Ernst & Young offers help to companies with business projects.

The staff create project plans and conduct cost benefit analysis as well as manage the implementation and conduct project evaluations.
