Child care experts offer advice
wishing to hear experts speak on child care in the new Millennium.
The Meeting the Challenges of Child Care in the New Millennium workshop is being co-sponsored by Woodlands Playhouse Nursery and Pre-School and the Bermuda College Centre for Learning.
Space is still available and anyone interested in child care is urged to attend the all-day sessions featuring local and international speakers.
Progressive Labour Party MP Delaey Robinson, who also serves as the chairman of the National Committee of the Rights of the Child, will be speaking at the opening ceremony.
Workshops will be held throughout the day on such topics as parenting, literacy, personal professional development, behaviour management, involving fathers in children's education and music.
Local stores The Children's Book Shop, Al-Mil, The Kie, The Writing Machine, ACA Bermuda and Rainbow Vacuum, along with ABC School Supplies from Decatur, Georgia, will have booths set up with items of interest to parents and teachers.
Admission at the door will be $45, with a half-day rate on offer for $30.
Registration will begin at 8.30 a.m.

A fire broke out on Wednesday at a private residence in Spanish Point Road and destroyed the interior of a refigerator.
The fire was caused by an electrical short in the refigerator which caused light smoke throughout the home. The estimated cost of damage was $300.
CYCLE THIEF SUSPECT PICKED UP CRM Cycle thief suspect picked up A 34-year-old Pembroke man was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station on suspicion of stealing.
Police responded to a report of someone tampering with an auxiliary cycle shortly before 1 a.m. on Wednesday near the corner of Victoria and Parliament streets in the city centre.
They arrived to find the suspect attempting to leave the area. He was questioned and taken back to the scene, where officers found evidence that the cycle in question had in fact been tampered with.
