IPA to close fund
it will close its Liquid Opportunities Plus Fund to new subscriptions.
The fund, which first opened on September 1, was designed to trade fixed income securities and derivatives on a market neutral basis. IPA said the decision to defer subscriptions was taken after the company raised more than $325 million from intitutional invesetors in the fourth quarter, more than double its goal for the year.
Anthony R. Furguson, president of IPA, credited the fund's marketing success to its lising on PlusFunds.com, which allows investors to monitor and compare the results of their investments in real-time.
The company said it plans to launch a new fund with a similar risk/return profile early this year, but that it did not expect to re-open the existing fund anytime soon.

Retail Ad World magazine published photographs of his work which it said features Bermuda's seaside, semi-tropical environment. The soft look of Cecile's beige and brown colour scheme was enhanced by sea shells, while Aston & Gunn "went `back to basics' with palm fronds, tropical foliage...
flamingos, straw baskets, bushels, crushed straw scatter and woven straw mats''. The magazine said the elements created a series of resort settings in Aston & Gunn's small, blacked-out windows.
The November issue of Retail Ad World also featured the catalogues of Barneys New York and Christian Dior and print ads for Saks Fifth Avenue.
