Need to organise more
the Labour ministry to organise more.
Director of labour and industrial relations Edwin Wilson said yesterday the consensus was positive from managers, trade union officials, and workers attending the two day seminar at the Bermuda College.
The seminar featured labour relations professors Dr. Dan Kruger of Michigan State, and Arthur Matthews of Cornell University, and International Labour Organisation specialist Jerry Goolsarran.
Speaking after the conference, Mr. Wilson said: "The general consensus was that they found it worthwhile. We found education and knowledge is important in coming together as management, Government, and union.'' Mr. Wilson said the seminar identified improved communication skills among individuals and collectively would be vital to good labour relations.
Future changes in the economy, labour, politics, and social problems show the need for all parties to recognise the effect of their relations on the community.
He added: "They therefore have to get it right.'' "For two days the barriers that are traditional between manager and worker daily were removed,'' Mr. Wilson said.
