Overseas Partners buys building

of Bermuda-based reinsurance company Overseas Partners Ltd., has bought Chicago's 333 West Wacker office tower, the company said on Friday.

Seller was Equitable Real Estate Investment Management Inc.

Price for the 36 floor, 826,000 square foot building was undisclosed but such properties range from $135 to $160 per square foot, Overseas Partners Capital said.

This is Overseas Partners Capital's second $100 million plus purchase in four months.

In September, the company bought the 900,000-square foot Atlanta Financial Centre from Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York (MONY).

The Chicago office building is located in the West Loop, the city's strongest office market, and is 90 percent leased.

Tenants include John Nuveen Co. and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp.

As well as real estate, Overseas Partners Capital, founded in 1989, has leasing and hotel interests.
