QuoVadis discovers certificate solution
Bermuda Internet start-up company QuoVadis has solved one of the major components of its plan to offer digital certificates in partnering with Swiss company, World Internet Secure Key (WISeKey).
WISeKey will greatly aid QuoVadis in carrying out the due diligence function on its clients and will act much like a passport checking system, ensuring that people are who they say they are.
Quo Vadis will be affiliated to the WISeKey Global Common ROOT. This will allow its certificate of authority to participate in the WISeKey public key infrastructure (PKI) being instituted in 120 countries.
Anthony Nagel, QuoVadis CEO said the move would help position Bermuda "as a secure and trusted node for international e-commerce transactions''.
Explaining the benefit to QuoVadis, Eric Burrus, director of sales and marketing for WISeKey said: "The co-operation between WISeKey and QuoVadis will allow the reliable identification of the parties and open e-commerce transactions between QuoVadis' offshore markets and the rest of the world.
"The fact that WISeKey is in the process of being recognised in over 120 countries will allow QuoVadis to use the `know-your-client' procedures on a global basis and to open electronic transactions to their users anywhere in the world''.
