Sea Containers reports profit
the $12 million forecasted at the company's June annual general meeting.
For the three months ended June 30, Sea Containers reported net income of $12.8 million on revenue of $213.5 million compared to net income of $101.7 million on revenue of $131.3 million earlier.
The 1995 second quarter included a $100 million gain from the sale of a ferry unit.
Earnings growth was largely driven by the company's ferry and leisure divisions.
Ferry, train and port quarter revenue rose to $118.4 million from $40.1 million. Revenues from the leisure division rose to $41.3 million compared to $33.1 million.
For the six months ended June 30, profit was $12.8 million on revenue of $318.8 million compared to net earnings of $95.9 million on revenue of $229.3 million.
Assets at June 30 were $1.87 billion compared to $1.71 billion three months earlier.
