Tellers taken out of service
Saturdays at the EasyLink Banking Centre on Par-La-Ville Road. As of September 1, customers will only be able to do transactions at the centre via the 24-hour ATMs. However, Danny Fox, the bank's senior vice president-retail clients, said it was planned to expand the card services department and relocate it from Gorham Road on September 13 to the EasyLink Banking Centre.
He said two more card services staff would be added. Meanwhile, Saturday banking will continue at the Dockyard branch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mr. Fox added part of the bank's reason for pulling the tellers was the discovery that about 80 percent of the Saturday transactions at the Easylink Banking Centre could be done through the ATMs.
"We need to continue doing more education of people on ATM use,'' Mr. Fox said.
