system that could generate $90 million in revenue in 1997, said CFO Steve Ruzika.

Bermuda-registered ADT plans to test the system in Atlanta, where it has a monitoring system, and Miami, which has a high rate of carjackings, he said.

The system will be rolled out next year and would cost $500 to $900 to install. ADT will charge $20 a month for monitoring.

Republic Industries Inc., controlled by billionaire H. Wayne Huizenga, in July agreed to buy ADT for $4 billion in a move that would create the nation's largest electronic-security business.

Bermuda resident Michael DeGroote is Republic's largest shareholder.

Mr. Ruzika declined to comment on the proposed ADT acquisition. He was speaking at a conference on mergers and acquisitions in the security industry.

The agreement, announced in July, is opposed by leading ADT shareholder, Western Resources Inc., which said it might block the stock and debt transaction.
