Travellers calling 1-888-247-2262 are frequently being greeted by a message that reports that their calls cannot be completed due to congestion on the international network.

Air Canada's local general manager Veronica DeSilva said the problem had been identified as falling under global telecommunications firm AT&T's responsibility.

That company had been contacted about the problem, she continued, and the airline was contacting them daily in a bid to speed up the repair process and was hopeful that the matter would be resolved soon.

She recommended that passengers call the local office at 293-0793 or 293-0794 if they failed to get through on the 1-888 number or visit the airline's office in Hamilton at Windsor Place.
