Aluminium firm sets up shop on former base in St. David's
An aluminium window and door construction business has set up shop on the former naval base in St. David's, the Land Development Transition Office announced.
Calvin White and Tekla Wold of Aluminium Fabrications Ltd. have signed a licence to use a building at Marginal Wharf.
Their company, which moved to the harbour site from Well Bottom in Warwick, constructs and repairs aluminium window frames, doors and blinds.
Aluminium Fabrications is the 13th company to sign a lease with the transition office for use of buildings and facilities at the former base property.
Licences are for one year with a 30-day cancellation clause.
The company will use a 2,000 square foot building at the west end of the wharf.
As well, the transition office also announced an agreement with the Department of Marine & Ports was signed allowing visiting yachts to use Marginal Wharf for bunkering when cruise ships occupy Penno's Wharf.
The agreement will run from year to year during cruise ship season only.
