Mr. Davis retired on April 26 and was honoured for his loyal and dedicated service as director and foreman. Mr. Davis started his construction career with Mr. Dennis Fagundo in 1963, which continued after the subsequent merger of the contracting businesses of Mr. Fagundo and Mr. John Pereira in 1967 to form D&J Construction.

*** Mr Lawrence A. Sticca , CRA, CRS, lecturer at Bermuda College for real estate, recently returned from the Real Estate Educators Association convention held in Portland, Maine.

While there he attended a workshop on designing real estate courses, challenged the instructor examination and took several other sessions on teaching real estate. Mr Sticca has been teaching the real estate course locally for two years and is a registered real estate appraiser and salesman.

*** Alexander Insurance Managers Ltd. (AIM), the captive management subsidiary of Alexander & Alexander Services Inc. (A&A), a number of new appointments.

Ms Jill Andrews , has been made senior account executive, graduated with high distinction earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Master of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa. After graduating, Ms Andrews joined the San Diego office of Deloitte and Touche. In 1988 she qualified as a Certified Public Accountant.

In 1990, she joined Deloitte and Touche Chartered Accountants in Bermuda. In March, 1992, she joined AIM as an account executive responsible for coordinating the ongoing activities of a portfolio of captive insurance companies including their financial reporting requirements. As senior account executive, Ms Andrews is responsible for overseeing a lager portfolio of companies while maintaining hands on involvement with a smaller number of larger captives.

AIM also announced that Ms Janet Durham , has been appointed account executive. Ms Durham has been involved in the insurance industry for almost 10 years. Prior to joining AIM in April, 1986, she spent three years as an account coordinator with American International Group (Bermuda), dealing with premiums and claims administration for various captive companies.

She recently received her Associate of Arts degree in Accounting from City Colleges of Chicago. As an account executive, she is responsible for coordinating the ongoing activities of a portfolio of captive insurance companies including their reporting requirements.

Ms Patrice Davis , who has been involved with the insurance industry for over ten years, has been named senior accountant at AIM. Prior to joining AIM, she spent two years as a reinsurance processor with Stockholm Reinsurance with responsibility for reinsurance processing, statement reconciliations and cash processing.

She received her education from Warwick Academy, University of Maryland and City Colleges of Chicago, Illinois. As a senior accountant at AIM, her duties include accounting for the day to day transactions of various captives and the presentation of those captives' financial statements and other reporting requirements.
