Bank of Butterfield stock closed at $25.00, just short of its 52 week high, trading 18,550 in one day.

BF&M shares also rose, going up 50 cents to $7.25. Bank of Bermuda stock was the only other item to change hands, but it closed unchanged at $45.50.

The index closed up 64.67 or 2.94 percent on a volume of 41,411 shares worth $1,496,041.25.
