Computer show set to log on at the Princess
incorporation, will hold a computer technology trade show tomorrow, said ST's manager of sales and marketing.
The trade show, at the Hamilton Princess, will mark the launch of the new endeavour, said Mr. Tony Harriott, formerly with Internet Bermuda Ltd. (IBL), a subsidiary of BSL Ltd.
Along with the trade show, ST has organised a series of computer technology seminars.
Mr. DeRoy Butterfield, also previously with IBL and the former general manager of North Atlantic Data Services Ltd., is ST president while Mr. Anthony Bennett, operator of Computer Rentals and Services, serves as ST's manager of technical services. His concern will be amalgamated with the new entity.
ST, with offices in the Decouto & Dunstan Building on Victoria Street, is part-owned by Canadian technology company Gafic Associates which is headquartered in Toronto with offices worldwide.
Gafic provides telecommunications and desktop services, said Mr. Harriott who is known as "Mr. Internet'' to the Island's computer and technology sector.
After bringing the Internet to eastern Canada, Mr. Harriott came to Bermuda to assist with the set up of IBL's internet project.
He has consulted in Canada and England for 15 years.
ST will provide services from network design and implementation to computer services and supplies as well as consulting.
The company will also offer project management, hardware and software, desktop products and hi-tech training through its affiliation with Learning Tree International (LTI).
ST is Bermuda's sole distributor of LTI, the largest information technology training organisation in the world, said Mr. Harriott.
LTI offers 88 different courses under seven categories.
