Cruise ships back in force
arriving and departing this week.
On Saturday the MV Royal Viking Sun arrived from the Azores and departed the same day for Florida. Tomorrow the Norwegian Crown will dock briefly in the morning in St. Georges and then shift to Hamilton in the afternoon.
And Sunday morning will see the departure of the Norwegian Crown and the arrival of the Horizon .
The Horizon will be at Dockyard until next Tuesday.
And the first arrival this year of the re-named Norwegian Majesty -- previously the Royal Majesty -- will coincide with the Peppercorn Ceremony being held in St. Georges on Wednesday.
In shipping news, the MV Oleander arrived and left this weekend with 117 dry containers, 37 refrigerated containers, two road trailers, two flat racks, three maffis of structured steel, 17 cars and one trailer.
And a liquid petroleum gas container Emsgaf arrived from the Bahamas on Friday and is expected to be at the oil docks off St. Georges for two days.
The car carrier , California Highway , carrying vehicles and spare parts, is due to arrive tomorrow (FRI) from the West Indies.
In Dockyard, submarine cables aboard the MV Danica Sunbeam will be discharged at the Cable and Wireless depot. The ship is expected to stay for two to three days. Also in Dockyard, the nuclear submarine HMS Trafalgar will depart on April 19.
And a recently bought fishing vessel, the Intrepid , passed through Bermuda on Monday en route from New England.
The Intrepid is being delivered to West Africa.
EARLY ARRIVAL -- Celebrity Cruise Lines' Horizon ties up Dockyard late on Easter Sunday evening and will be returning on the Island early next week.
