RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. director, the company said yesterday.
Mr. Cooper has served as Bank of America president, CEO of Goldome, vice chairman of Mellon bank and president of Philadelphia's Girard Bank.
He has over 30 years of experience in financial services.
Mr. Cooper, also chairman of TAC Bancshares, Inc., will serve as a director until the company's May 1997 annual general meeting.
RenaissanceRe also announced yesterday a regular quarterly dividend of 20 cents per common share payable September 4 to shareholders of record August 20.
RenaissanceRe, through subsidiaries Renaissance Reinsurance Ltd. and Glencoe Insurance Ltd., provides insurance and reinsurance, principally property catastrophe reinsurance.
DHL'S NEW BOX BUC DHL's new box DHL Worldwide Express is slated to launch its new "jumbo box'' in Bermuda on Monday, the company said yesterday.
The new box, made of double-corrugated cardboard, can be filled with 25 kilograms of material for a flat rate and the company will express freight it to any of 80,000 destinations in the 220 countries where DHL operates.
DHL has divided the globe into four zones, Caribbean, US, Canada/Latin America/Mexico and the rest of the world and fixed prices for each of the zone, $120, $120, $150 and $155 respectively.
The box, a first for DHL, was test marketed in the Far East, DHL Bermuda manager Thad Crouch said.
DIVIDEND DECLARED SHI Dividend declared Bermuda-registered MC Shipping Inc. yesterday announced it will pay a dividend of four cents per share for the quarter ended June 30.
The dividend, part of a regular quarterly dividend policy initiated in March 1995, is payable August 23 to shareholders of record August 14.
On July 24, MC Shipping announced quarter earnings of $560,547, or nine cents per share, on revenues of $6 million.
