Dr. Brazelton's presentation centres on contemporary issues for parents and child development.
The seminar for professionals who work with children and their parents on a daily basis, includes identification and management of high risk children, the effects of substance abuse on development and day care.
Other activities for the month include the Child Development Programme's open house on October 21 at its Palmetto Road headquarters.
A Health Department spokesperson said: "Following the success of last year's theme `Spend Some Time with a Child Today' the committee has adopted the theme `Off to a Good Start'.
"It is a widely held belief that a child will flourish if it is raised in an environment that provides support, attention and genuine caring.''
