He had managed the Bank of Butterfield's real estate department but the bank recently sold the department to realtor Jones Waddington Ltd. making six positions redundant.

Mr. Lapsley had worked for the bank for 15 years.

He will now work for Rego Ltd. as the company's manager, property management.

The realtor also announced that Jacqui Lewis, also previously with the Bank of Butterfield's real estate department, has joined the company as a rental/sales agent.

Previously, she was with L.P. Gutteridge Ltd., which merged with the Bank of Bermuda's real estate and mortgage arms to become Bermuda Home. Ms Lewis was also previously with Hope Bowker Real Estate.

The bank sold its real estate department because it was not a core business.
