BA spokesman Sallie Singleton told The Royal Gazette that these problems had a "knock on'' effect on aircraft and crew availability which resulted in several flights being cancelled.

The cancellation means passengers supposed to arrive last night will now either be re-routed through New York, arriving today, or will arrive from Gatwick tonight.

And those passengers due to leave Bermuda for London last night will also be re-routed, probably flying through the US on their way to London.
