Reinsurance advisors Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., will be opening a Bermuda office to handle its business on the Island.

Guy Carpenter & Company is a leading global reinsurance intermediary that advises insurance and reinsurance companies on risk management. The company structures and places reinsurance coverage and other risk transfer financing with reinsurance firms and capital markets worldwide.

The new operation will be housed within the Marsh Global Broking group in Bermuda, and will be managed by Norbert (Bert) Golinski.

In his new capacity, Mr. Golinski will maintain responsibility for his current US-based and Bermuda accounts, while expanding his role to include Bermuda insurance and reinsurance business for Guy Carpenter. "We feel it is important for our Bermuda clients, prospects, and markets to have local access to the vast global resources of Guy Carpenter,'' said Sal Zaffino, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Guy Carpenter.

Mr. Golinski will continue to report to Greg Ostrowski, managing director and head of Guy Carpenter's Philadelphia operation, for all account activity. He is also part of the Global Special Property Practice and will continue to lead the Index Based Product Team worldwide, both headed by David Priebe, Managing Director at Guy Carpenter's headquarters in New York.
