New face at Community Education

Mrs. Patricia Marie Chapman, who has 15 years of teaching experience and a masters degree in Human Resource Development and Management, replaced recently-promoted Community Affairs director Mr. Henry Douglas.

Mrs. Patricia Marie Chapman, who has 15 years of teaching experience and a masters degree in Human Resource Development and Management, replaced recently-promoted Community Affairs director Mr. Henry Douglas.

For the past four years Mrs. Chapman was West End Primary School's special projects/audio visual co-ordinator. Before that she co-ordinated language arts, library and computer resources at Prospect Primary School for ten years.

Mrs. Chapman -- who has completed the Bermuda National Leadership Certificate Programme and courses in technology in education and middle school guidance counselling -- also worked as a volunteer mentor and tutor at the Adult Education School and the Co-ed Facility.

She has also led and participated in workshops for the Bermuda Union of Teachers' annual conference.

As co-ordinator of the Community Education and Development Programme, Mrs.

Chapman will, under the direction of Mr. Douglas, manage and administer the entire programme at all Government community education centres.
