PW's mechanics get additional training

after the company brought in Mr. Tadashi Nakagawa of the Nissan Motor Company so he can share his technical skills with the company's mechanics.

The company said this week that with the re-release of the newly designed Nissan March into the Bermuda market, Mr. Nakagawa is available to teach the local technicians skills that are required to maintain the new model.

The new car is equipped with a "computer brain''in the engine management system. The focus of the training will be how to understand that system and other aspects of the car.

Mr. Nakagawa, who has been with Nissan for seventeen years, is at present their manager, specialist service instructor for Nissan Overseas Business College, having been an instructor since 1989.

Mr. Nakagawa is on the island until Saturday and is holding training sessions every afternoon this week until then at the PWs Motor centre on St. John's Road.

His objectives are to train new service skills before the new model is introduced to the Island and improve customer service levels.

In the past, the local car importer would send one or two staff members to Japan and expect them to conduct training upon their return. But this year, they say, everyone will be able to hear the same message and then provide the level of service to customers that are required by Nissan.
