Mr. Steede, a national team cricketer who has played First Division soccer with St. David's has a degree in mathematics.

The former Whitney Institute teacher especially wants to teach talented young athletes the importance of a good education.

"I try to show them the academic side of things and encourage them not just to rely on sporting ability to get them through life,'' said Mr. Steede, who also teaches inmates at Casemates Prison.

His tutorial, called The Math Master, is being run above Chris Kross Records at the Musson Building on the corner of Reid and Court Streets, from 3.30 p.m.

to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, at a cost of $35 per week.
