Two-day construction industry seminar to start on October 9
A two-day intensive training seminar will aim to improve the professional and management skills of those in the construction industry.
Geared for surveyors, architects, engineers, project & contract managers the seminar entitled `Commercial Awareness', has been organised by the Bermuda Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and will be conducted by Hawksmere.
The seminar will cover contract strategy, risk management, payment terms, negotiation techniques, marketing, proposals as well as business contract law.
The areas covered should help make those in construction and project management, more successful.
Two speakers, Garth Ward and David Wright will be the presenters. Mr. Ward served ten years as the director of the MSc project Management Programme at Cranfield School of Management. He has lectured widely and has professional experience in the UK and overseas with both clients and contractors on large-scale projects in power, petroleum and chemical projects.
Mr. Wright is a contracts consultant. His career as an industrial lawyer included a period with an electrical company, four years with Ferranti, in the electronic and defence industries, 12 years with Burmah Oil, and several years with Mechanical engineers, Mather and Platt.
Hawksmere have a proven tack record in presenting professional development seminars. They conduct the annual International Reinsurance Seminar in Bermuda. The two day event will take place on October 9 and 10 at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Hotel.
