B H Maritime Carriers reported its losses for the nine months ended September 30 fell from $6.78 million to $1.4 million, while B H Ocean Carriers' losses for the same period fell from $5.26 million to $1.78 million.

B H Maritime said revenues fell from $6.78 million to $5.64 million. the company said the loss was primarily attributable to the expense and related non-hire associated with the drydocking and special surveys on the M/T Cury and M/T Iter .

"In the fourth quarter the company expects to benefit from the improvement in product tanker freight rates and also from the fact that there are no scheduled drydockings or special surveys,'' the company said.

The company owns and operates three product tankers.

B H Oceans Carriers also said drydockings and special surveys on the M/T Alex and the M/T Nike hurt the company's earnings.
