AFL hosts Financial Planning Week seminars
The value of financial planning will be the focus for two seminars held by AFL Investments as part of Financial Planning Week next week.
AFL will also be hosting the final two seminars of its age-specific financial-planning series in association with the Chamber of Commerce next month.
Financial Planning Week is designed to help individuals discover the value of financial planning and make important decisions about life goals and how to achieve them.
The seminars, which will be held in the Argus Building at 14 Wesley Street in Hamilton on Tuesday, October 6, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., and Thursday, October 8, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., will offer information and advice about how to develop a financial plan, which builds a bridge between a current financial situation and future wealth and lifestyle objectives.
The age-specific financial-planning seminars will be held at AFL Investments in the Maxwell Roberts Building, 1 Church Street in Hamilton, with the first one entitled "Lordy, Lordy, Now You're Forty: Maximising Your Investment Strategies" on Thursday, October 8, between 5.30 p.m. and 7 p.m., and the second one "Fabulous Fifties: The Home Stretch" on Thursday, October 22, from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Cindy Campbell, chief operating officer, AFL Investments, said: "Financial planning is something that people often know they should be doing but don't always set aside the time to actually do it.
"Financial Planning Week helps to raise awareness of the importance of planning your finances. After the market turbulence of 2008, many people have experienced significant shortfalls and therefore, need to re-evaluate their financial goals. Financial planning has never been more important."
Carla Seely, senior wealth manager at AFL Investments, said: "At AFL Investments we have created these seminars to educate people on the importance of creating a financial plan and the steps they should take to ensure it's successful.
Places at the free seminars are limited and pre-registration is recommended. Refreshements will be available.
