Argus lifts the BSX
Argus Group Holdings Ltd. gained one percent on The Royal Gazette/ Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX Index yesterday, the day after it announced a loss of $42 million for the six-months through the end of September.
The insurer and pension provider gained 10 cents to climb to $10, as 10,033 shares traded.
Otherwise, it was a very quiet day of trading, with Butterfield Bank the only other issue to see any activity.
The bank closed the day unchanged on $11.10, as 713 of its shares changed hands.
The Argus trades were enough to propel the BSX Index to a rise of 3.79 points (0.11 pecent), closing the week on 3,521.35.
Volume was 10,746 shares and turnover totalled $108,244.30.
Most of the Island's international insurance companies enjoyed a positive day of trading on US markets, as the BSX Insurance Index advanced 3.4 percent to close on 843.64.
