Ascendant falls 3.7%

Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd. fell 3.7 percent yesterday on a day of thin trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
Ascendant, the energy group which owns Belco, fell 56 cents to $14.39 as 900 shares traded.
Butterfield Bank was the only other issuer to see trading activity. Butterfield remained unchanged on $1.33, as 869 shares changed hands.
Two of Butterfield's eight-percent yielding preference shares were also exchanged, as their price remained at $1,275 apiece.
The Royal Gazette / BSX Index fell 4.92 points, or 0.4 percent, to close on 1,176.68.
Volume totalled 1,771 shares, while turnover topped $16,500.
The BSX Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurers slid eight points, or 0.8 percent, to close on 992 points.
