Ascendant Group rises

Seven companies saw trading action on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week, but only two changed value.

Ascendant Group Ltd., owner of power company Belco, climbed 25 cents, or 1.7 percent, to close on $15.25 on the trading of 500 shares.

Bermuda (Press) Holdings Ltd., owner of The Royal Gazette, slipped 40 cents, or 3.7 percent, to $10.50, as 2,000 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank was the most heavily traded stock, but even with the trading volume of 106,115 shares, its share price remained unchanged on $3.90.

Bermuda Container Line Ltd., which last week announced its intention to delist from the BSX, also had an active week, with 6,200 shares traded, as it remained on $12.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd., KeyTech Ltd. and Watlington Waterworks were also traded, but their share values remained unchanged.

The Royal Gazette / BSX Index advanced slightly, gaining 3.58 points, or 0.2 percent, to close the week on 2,098.95.
