Ascendant up 1.5%

Energy company Ascendant Group Ltd. was the only climber in Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) trading yesterday.

The share price of the owner of Belco gained 20 cents, or 1.5 percent, on the trading of 5,000 shares to close the day on $13.80.

The only other domestic board trading activity was in Butterfield Bank's eight percent preference shares, which remained unchanged on $1,200 as 21 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette / BSX Index closed at 1,218.57, up 1.76 points, or 0.1 percent.

Volume was 5,021 shares and turnover was a little more than $73,400.

The BSX Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies gained four points, or 0.4 percent, to close on 944 points.
