Butterfield Bank and Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. helped the Bermuda Stock Exchange to a positive trading day.

Bermuda Press, owner of The Royal Gazette, gained 50 cents, or 4.8 percent, on the trading of 1,000 shares to close on $11.

Butterfield climbed five cents, or 1.3 percent, to end yesterday's session on $3.95, as 25,000 of the bank's shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette / BSX Index rose 9.97 points, or 0.5 percent, to close on 2,108.92.

Volume was 26,000 shares and turnover was $109,650.

The BSX Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies rose 3.02 points, or 0.3 percent, to close on 950.21 points.
