Belco hits new 52-week low

Bermuda stocks dipped again yesterday as the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange fell 34.83 points to close at 3,817.68.

Both Belco and Butterfield Bank hit new 52-week lows. Belco stock fell 5.27 percent ($0.95), closing at $17.05 after 1,885 shares changed hands. The company's previous 52-week low was $18.

And Butterfield Bank sank to $11.90 (dropping $0.10 or 0.83 percent) with 39,304 shares traded.

Argus was the only other active stock on the day, with 1,100 shares traded. It closed unchanged at $13.

The Bermuda Insurance Index added 1.19 points yesterday to close at 920.31.
