The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock exchange fell 31.24 (0.70 percent) yesterday with BELCO and Argus Group taking small hits.

Argus saw 12,100 shares traded for an overall decline of $0.50 (3.44 percent), taking its share price to $14, while BELCO shares closed at $20, down 2.91 percent.

Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. rallied, however, with shares rising 27.27 percent to close at $14, up $3, after 10,000 shares were traded. The rise follows an 18.5 percent drop in the company's stock on Tuesday.

The only other stock traded yesterday was Butterfield Bank, which fell slightly, $0.05 (0.34 percent) to close at $14.45 after 4,943 shares were traded.

The Bermuda Insurance Index closed at 975.90, down 0.99 percent.
