Butterfield Bank rallied yesterday to a $0.15 gain (1.27 percent) after more than a week of decline. BNTB shares closed at $11.95 after 55,621 were traded.

Belco fared less well, however, falling another 4.47 percent yesterday to close at $16, down $0.75, to another new 52-week low, after 5,700 shares changed hands.

Overall the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange rose 12.51 on the day, to 3,800.15.

The Bermuda Insurance Index took a hit, however, falling by 13.32 to close at 694.19.
